Local Businesses that go above and beyond.

I don’t take or solicit advertising for this site. When I talk about a restaurant, artist, store or business it’s because I believe in what they are doing.

October is breast cancer awareness month.  I think all of us know someone or have had a close friend with the disease.  Personally I have someone very dear to my heart who has recently been diagnosed.  October is almost over but there are local businesses that support and raise funds for Susan G. Komen and other organizations throughout the year.  Synergy Hair Salon in North Wales is one of those businesses.  One of the girls, Kathy, has a group she calls “Wind Beneath Our Wings” and they have raised over 20 thousand dollars for the Susan G. Koman walk. Nort, the owner of the salon, is a great guy.  He supports the efforts of the group year round.  Last time I was in there he was sporting the bright pink T-shirt with the pink ribbon logo.  They have bake sales and many other activities throughout the year that help raise money for the cause.  Now, I didn’t initially go in there because of their community conscience.  I went in because several of my friends just had great hair and I asked them who cut their hair.  This place is not fancy and it’s not over priced. It is a place where you can get a darn good cut and color. They take their time, they listen to what you want and they give you a great cut. One trip in and I was hooked! I’ve been going there for over a year and a half and never been disappointed. Here is their information:
