If you are a music lover this is a great weekend for you. The Philadelphia Folk Festival is happening almost in our backyard this weekend from Thursday Evening through Sunday. The festival is happening in Schwenksville at Old Pool Farm located at 1323 Salford Station Road. The line-up features both contemporary and traditional artists in genres like world/fusion, Celtic, folk rock, and more. Folk Fest is organized by the non-profit Philadelphia Folksong Society.

Theater lovers there is something for you as well. Opening this evening at the Bucks County Playhouse is “The Tale of the Allergist’s Wife”. It is directed by four-time Tony Award-winning actor Boyd Gaines (Gypsy, Journey’s End), and starring Marilu Henner( original Broadway production), Marsha Mason ( 4 time Academy Award nominee), David Garrison ( Married with Children), Lynn Cohen ( Sex and the City) and Ryan Shams. Beer Lovers, Friday night is the Annual Beer Event at Fonthill Castle. This event is a celebration of local food, beer and spirits.
