Things to do this weekend

MERCER MUSEUM

If you haven’t taken the kids to see the LEGO Castle Adventure at the Mercer Museum you still have time. The exhibit closes on January 18th. Cost is $14 adults/$12 seniors/$8 youth (6-17).

The museum invites builders of all ages to construct their very own castles using LEGO® bricks! You get to enter a LEGO Kingdom and explore a castle full of secret passageways and much more!   No advance tickets are necessary.  Purchase tickets  in person at the Mercer Museum’s Admissions Desk.  Children must be accompanied by an adult in the exhibit area.

Mercer Museum Hours:
Monday-Saturday: 10 am-5 pm
Sundays (January 10th & 17th): 10 am – 5 pm

THE JAMES A. MICHENER ART MUSEUM

In addition to the permanent exhibitions the Michener always has really interesting exhibits. There are 4 running now. “Roadside Tales” really captured my attention. Linden Frederick makes the ordinary quite extraordinary with his whimsical use of light.

For those of you who love quilt making don’t miss “Blanket Statements”. This is a chance to see both New and Historical Quilts.

Can you make quilts out of wood? “Pattern Pieces” explores pattern, shape and color in contemporary art.

Music

There are always interesting places to hear live music in and around Doylestown. This evening  from 5 to 7:30 You can hear “Music for the Heart & Soul” at the Doylestown Food Market on State Street. There are  pasta samples as well as wine and cider.
